Day 4, Sunday, December 31, 2006

53 this morning in Goodman (Holmes County SP)
Rain stopped last night or early this morning. Still cloudy back on the Trace, but the clouds vanished as we continued south. By noon it was sunny and in the mid-60's. Drove 170 miles into Natchez. We decided to stay in an RV park in town and not out in the State Park so we would be close to the restaurants and the gambling river boat. We are right on the Mississippi River. Not much was happening in Natchez for NYE. Most places were closed, and the best dinner in town at one of the Antebellem Mansions was sold out. We settled for a new place in town that had a limited menu of just three items for dinner. They said they were sold out but we could eat at the bar. We did but they were never more than half full the entire time we were there. We felt sorry for them because the empty seats had to be "no-shows". Anyway, had a nice dinner, listened to their jazz band for awhile, then went to the "boat" to contribute a little money. Back to BlueBoy by 11:00 pm and to bed just after New Year.
