Day 7, Wednesday, January 3, 2007

44 this morning in Natchez.

Drove the 160 miles South to Fontainbleau State Park on the north shore of Lake Pontchartrain. Our intended holding area for two nights before going into New Orleans for the weekend. It's too crowded right now with the Sugar Bowl in town.

The park is still recovering from the hurricanes and most of it is still closed and under restoration. Can't go to the lake, the beach is closed off for safety concerns because of all the broken glass, etc in the sand. Not really a great place to be right now. It's cloudy, low 60's, humid, and lots of mosquitoes. Thankfully, we have the Sugar Bowl to watch tonight for entertainment. Forecast is for lots of rain the next few days. Great!
