Day 9, Friday, January 5, 2007

55 this morning.

Rain stopped about 5 am and when the sun came up the sky was clear. What a change! Packed up Blue Boy but before leaving drove Junior into town for lunch on the lake at a nice restaurant with outside seating. The lake is so big you cannot see the other side. But the 25 mile causeway into New Orleans starts right here in town and is visible from the shore going into what seems to be infinity. Temperature reached about 75 today and never saw a cloud.

Found FQRV park (French Quarter RV) with space available for the weekend and made it our home for the weekend. It is right next to the French Quarter - you can just walk to it from here. We walked Bourbon street and had a few drinks while there - that's what you do here. Bands were playing at 4:00 pm and the action was picking up. However, the RV park personal cautioned us about walking back after dark so we cut our tour short for today. Cemeteries, museums, IMAX theater, and restaurants tomorrow.

This RV park is a "Class A" park meaning they only allow the big Class A "rigs" in here. But they liked the looks of Blue Boy and let us stay. It's noisy being right next to I-10 but it is right in town. And it's spotless, with all paved drives and paving brick pads. Parking spot for Junior and grass for the dogs. It's gated and security patrolled 24/7. Swimming pool, exercise room, and hookers on call. Life is good!

Su-be-do, I don't know why you cannot leave us a comment. Others have, so I know it's enabled. Please try again (or there will not be any more 4-peppercorn sauce).

Dea, Thank You!

Brother Tim, We are fine. We got wet but not blown away.
