Day 54, Monday, Feburary 19, 2007

48 this morning at River Island SP

Not bad, and warming up with spotty sunshine. But dark clouds on the horizon. By the time we pulled out it was about 70 and starting to rain.

We drove 150 miles to Pleasant Lake Regional Park north of Phoenix with rain all the way. Quite heavy by the time we arrived. The temperature dropped to 43 by 6:00pm as the cold front came through. Still raining now at 8:30pm and the heaters are on. News said more than an inch of rain so far. Someone said if we are still here in a week we will see the desert blossom with green and flowers because of the much needed rain.

I'm going to put pictures from the past days here on this page. They don't belong where we are now, but it's not important. Everyone wants pictures, not my verbage. If I went back five days or so to put the pictures where they belong, no one would see them.

Another view across the Colorado to California - those are RV's over there.

Buckskin Mountain State Park. They were full when we tried to stay here so we went up the highway to River Island State Park - it's sister park. We came back to hike the trail while staying at River Island.

Brother,
It's nice to see Arizona. I wish we could be there. Maybe we'll just sell our house and travel for a few years.

Brother,
Fantastic! Amy and the girls were in for a visit (plus both dogs) this past long President's weekend. Emma & Kathleen were fasanated with pictures and map showing them where we were and where you were camping. Emma suggested we sneak out there and suprize you. Kathleen said we could sneak in during the night and if we didn't snore loud you wouldn't even know it. Sister Beth

The "wildlife" is so beautiful in Arizona! I had no idea that the wild golden habitat extended that far south! : ) Mandy
