Day 47, Monday, Feburary 12, 2007

48 this morning in Yuma

It's now 9 am local time as I post this blog and temperature is already up to 60 and not a cloud in the sky.

This RV park is nice but that's about it. Crowded, too close to the highway, dusty, no place to walk the dogs except a dusty vacant lot. We will do laundry today then visit a few local attractions, and maybe get to Mexico, but will leave in the morning for a State Park (Buckskin Mountain) between Parker and Lake Havasu. As expected, the weather here is the draw. The sun shines about 95% of the time. We went to four RV parks yesterday and all were full. We finally found one that had one, just one, spot left. We took it and here we are.

Just got back from Mexico - what a waste of time! The town, Algodones, is very clean compared to the other Mexican towns we have visited from Texas and New Mexico. But our lunch was just ok, Crown Royal there is more expensive than here in the US, and we had to wait in line for over two hours to go through US customs on our way back! Took so long we got nothing else done today - wanted to visit the historic downtown Yuma. Now we might stay one more day here to get that done.

The following pictures are from our last day in Lake Havasu. Just did not get around to putting them on the blog because we lost internet access for four or five days. If I put them on the proper day, no one will see them - so here they are.
