Day 66, Saturday, March 3, 2007

38 this morning at Usery Mountain Regional Park

About the same great weather today - cool mornings, hot sun during the day (but cool air if not in sun), beautiful sunsets with chill following immediately.

The park offered a "Red Moon" hike in the desert tonight and we went - along with 134 other people. My guess is that for you all back home, with your weather being what it is, you might not have known that the moon was full tonight. And, it was a Lunar Eclipse therefore the "Red Moon".

Anyway it was a nice 2 hour, 3 mile hike with the rangers. The East coast got the "Red" moon, we just got a slightly pink one for about 10 minutes after it came up. Too many people to allow the rangers to talk about much of anything, so we all just followed single file along the trails. Great experience to out in the desert at night!
