Day 14, Wednesday, January 10, 2007

53 this morning on Galveston Island.

Beautiful clear day in the low to mid 60's but a little breezy which made it feel cooler than yesterday. Still clear and stars are out tonight as I write. Long beach walk this morning with the dogs "off-leash". They have so much fun, we have fun just watching.

This State Park has 170 site capacity (only 70 are open for use as it's the slow season) so we pretty much have the beach to ourselves, but it's not sunbathing weather anyway. Most of the campers here are not outside very much - I don't know what they do all day.

Drove around the island this afternoon and got a "feel for the land". Stopped by "Woodies" on the beach for a beer and back to the park to enjoy the late afternoon sun. Cooked dinner on the grill and now have a night time fire burning (Ellen is enjoying the fire, I'm doing "stuff" inside). The days sure go by fast!

Late afternoon sun. No shorts and t-shirt, but nice just the same.

This was to be a short movie clip. Try double-clicking on it to see if you can get it to play. If not, it's still a good view of the Gulf.
