Day 75, Monday, March 12, 2007

44 this morning at Rockhound State Park, NM

Got our lunch in Mexico and Ellen did her shopping, but the duty free store was out of Crown Royal AGAIN! Said more will be in tomorrow afternoon but we are leaving the area in the morning. Only $16.00 a liter! I'm crying!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My internet connection lately has been good for general use but not good for uploading pictures to the blog. As soon as I get back to a high-speed area I'll post all pictures on one or two pages.

The weather here in NM has been a little cooler than AZ but still very nice. Mid 70's and sunny during the day and down to low 40's by morning. Some clouds but only passing. Sitting in the sun is almost too hot to handle, while shade is too cool without extra clothing.

We like it here, but would take Arizona as first choice.

Talked to Sue Cobb today and we are going to Las Cruces tomorrow to meet-up. We'll stay at nearby Leasburg Dam State Park and drive into town to visit Sue at her new home.

One drawback to this wonderful desert landscape is it is hard on the dogs. Lots of "stuff" to get stuck in their paws and tangled in their long hair, plus the heat of the desert sun! We do what we think they can handle, then get them back to the motorhome. Yes, we take lots of water for them and they get all they want, but as much as they want to go - they still are very happy to get home.
