Day 16, Friday, January 12, 2007

60 this morning on Galveston Island.

It is going to rain today, and soon. It's dark and humid. The good thing about this is I don't have to wash two vehicles before we leave. We are heading to Mustang Island State Park just outside of Corpus Christi, TX. More later.

Rain never arrived until we got to Mustang Island. In fact, it turned out to be a beautiful day. By the time we got on the road it had cleared up and was sunny and warm. We wished we had stayed one more day on Galveston Island to enjoy the good weather while we had it. It got up to 79 this afternoon. Rain came around 7:00 pm but not much. Looks like it's going to get real cold this weekend.

Drove 240 miles to arrive at Mustang Island State Park. It has miles of deserted beach on the Gulf of Mexico and a long paved area for a camp ground with "hookups" on either side. Can't see the water from here but sure can hear it. But just a short walk to access the beach. Park is full, however.
