Day 22, Thursday, January 18, 2007

34 this morning at Garner State Park.

Grey and overcast another day but as it gets lighter out I can see some patches of blue. The Weather Channel, however, indicates nothing but clouds and rain/freezing rain again today. We’ll see what happens.

We did get a little sun early today but by mid-afternoon the rain returned and it is still raining as I type tonight at 8:00 pm. We drove 390 miles to Van Horn, TX and are staying at an RV park just off I-10. Its 41 right now and not expected to freeze tonight, but the next two days and nights could get messy. Lots of snow is coming very close to us. We’ll get into New Mexico tomorrow but it’s going to be very cold even on the Mexican border south of Deming where we want to stay for a few days at Pancho Villa State Park. We just may “blast” our way into Arizona in search of warmth and sunshine and wait to spend time in New Mexico and West Texas on our way back. The weather will tell us what to do next.

Thanks for checking up on us. Wish the trip could be a little more interesting to follow, but with the cold spell and rain we’re not getting out much to take pictures. The adventure of traveling is still ours to enjoy every day, so no complaints.
